OFFICIAL MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING

OF THE SEYMOUR CITY COUNCIL

SEYMOUR, IOWA--FEBRUARY 13, 2017


Seymour City Council met on the 13th day of February, 2017, at 7:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall with Mayor Housh presiding. Present: Carter, Housh, Rembe.  Absent:  Merritt, Weeks.


AGENDA:  Moved by Rembe, seconded by Housh to approve the minutes of the January 3, 2017 and January 26, 2017 regular and special meetings.  A.V.A.M.C.


FINANCIAL STATEMENTS:  Moved by Housh, seconded by Carter to approve the financial statement for January 2017.  A.V.A.M.C.


CLAIMS:  Moved by Carter, seconded by Housh to approve the claims to approve the financial statement for January 2017, as presented.  A.V.A.M.C. 


POLICE REPORT:  Officer Carter had no items to report to the Council.


FIRE DEPARTMENT: Fire Chief Merritt reported two fire calls and using less than 500 gallons of water for the month of January. Finish work is continuing on the new building.


CITY CREW REPORT:  It was decided to put up netting on the whistle to keep wildlife from nesting there, and to advertise in local papers regarding the opening on the City Crew.


PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE:  Moved by Rembe, seconded by Housh to approve the extension request received.  A.V.A.M.C.


OLD BUSINESS:  There was a brief discussion regarding the abatements and it was noted that the mower grant applications was submitted in a timely fashion.


Moved by Rembe, seconded by Carter to adopt the following:


RESOLUTION 2017-04

A RESOLUTION ADOPTING CURRENT FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTS


Roll Call Vote as Follows:  Ayes -- Carter, Housh, Rembe.  Nays - None  Absent - Merritt, Weeks.  Passed and approved this 13th day of February, 2017.
